1979 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - Russell Martilla (entry 000053)

Background info:

I bought this car from the original owner for $600... It has 186k on the odometer. It has a 305 4bbl, turbo350 trans. Fact. A/C (which works flawlessly) power windows and seats and the interior has no rips except for the dashboard speaker grill. Everything works except the interior dome light and the electric antenna. When I bought it I had to rebuild the carb and do a complete tune-up. It was running pretty bad. The old man thought the engine was shot. I found 2 bridged plugs (lazy mechanic didn't change the hard to get plugs) and a burnt wire. After the tune-up and the carb rebuild this thing runs like new!!! So smooth. The old man changed a lot of parts. It has a complete new brake system, exhaust from the cat back, a/c compressor, wiper motor (delay wipers too), power window motors, power seat motor and switch and many more other things. I am going to do a mild fix-up/customize. I plan to get the engine rebuilt, mild performance. Headers, manifold, carb, cam etc. 83-88 SS Monte bucket seats, console and gauges and complete repaint and bodywork. As of now the only rust are small patches on the corners of the doors and a small rust hole on the passenger side floor which the old man already did a nice job of fixing but I will replace the whole patch. That's about all I plan. I plan to drive it all the time so major customization is out. I don't want a trailer queen.
